JURY AWARDS ANNOUNCEMENT
Large Category | Adaptive Reuse
The jury recognised Thoravej 29 by pihlmann architects as a landmark example of circular construction at scale. Its strength lies not only in the impressive environmental figures, but in the way reuse becomes architectural expression.
First Prize

The jury recognised Infinito Delicias by Husos + elii as a compelling demonstration of adaptive reuse. Rather than treating architecture as a fixed object, the project proposes a flexible environment where materials, spaces, and systems adapt over time.
Honorable Mention
The jury recognised Brewery Manufaktūra by Sampling as a thoughtful and convincing example of adaptive reuse, where industrial heritage is not erased or overly restored, but carefully reconfigured for contemporary public life.

Medium Category | New-built
The jury awarded Veldhuis by LMNL office for its thoughtful integration of typology, material choice, and site-specific expression. Its strength lies in the use of historical methods not as nostalgia, but as a basis for innovation.

The jury recognised Hemphouse by Bach Mühle Fuchs and Ljubica Arsic for its thoughtful and compelling relationship between spatial organisation and materials. Hempcrete and timber define both its environmental strategy and its atmosphere.
Honorable Mention
The jury recognised Closing Loops by Aalto University as a convincing example of circular architecture in a new-built context. By reusing and repairing materials, it preserves embodied carbon while giving existing materials a longer life.

Medium Category | Adaptive Reuse
The Jury praised Scheune Vogg by Weyell Berner Architekten and Steinbach Schimmel Architekten for its intelligent approach to adaptive reuse. Rather than fully transforming the barn, they worked with the quality of the existing structure.

The jury recognised WVDM Living Lab by MAKER architecten as an ambitious example for future retrofits. The project shows how rigorous reuse strategies, and design for disassembly can shape a new way of working with existing buildings.
Honorable Mention
The jury recognised The Japanese Terrace by Titmas Interiors for its highly bespoke and atmospheric transformation, while carefully choosing natural materials and breathable finishes that support everyday wellbeing and indoor air quality.
Honorable Mention
The jury recognised Hampstead Passive House Retrofit by GS Architecture and Axel Vervoordt for using new and reclaimed natural materials to reduce environmental impact, and improve performance while respecting the existing character of the historic home.
Special Mention
Small Category | New-built
The jury recognised The Office/Atelier by Espace Disponible as a forward-thinking approach to contemporary architecture. Constructed from 90% reclaimed materials, the project reversed the traditional process to source materials first and design later.

The jury recognised 3dPA Forest Campus by IAAC for its systemic contribution. With its 3d-printed walls from locally sourced earth, it reduces waste, limits material use, and allows elements to be dismantled and reprinted into new configurations.
Honorable Mention
Rundbalshuset by Erik and Laura Vidje was praised for its contemporary ecological design. With 50% of materials sourced on-site, it reduces embodied carbon, avoids waste and demonstrates the value of low-tech building techniques in a harsh climate.

The jury praised Dijkmagazijn Scharwoude by common practice for its sensitive balance between preservation, adaptation, and sustainable design, demonstrating how heritage can be reinterpreted through contemporary design.

The jury recognised Cork Loft by Office S&M Architects for its circular and visual design approach within an existing building context. The extensive use of cork gives the spaces depth and a natural character while supporting a healthy indoor climate.
Honorable Mention
The jury recognised Unfinished House by David Brodsky and Alexander Brodsky as a powerful example of sufficiency in architecture. Its strength lies in the decision to use reclaimed and handmade resources only where they are truly needed.

Micro Category | New-built
The jury recognised The Stage of Possibilities by Borneo Architecture for reinterpreting the idea of the modern-day pavilion. The project captures a moment in time, bringing people together through making, gathering and performance.

The jury recognised Bicycle Bower by Gerrit Müller-Scheeßel as an example that demonstrates how small-scale architecture can enhance everyday life while supporting circularity, active travel and community skills.
Honorable Mention
The jury recognised Habitable Skin by Studio Coquille for challenging the idea that buildings exist solely for human use. Made from eelgrass, upcycled fishing nets and reclaimed wood it serves as a multi-species design for both people and wildlife.

PEOPLE’S CHOICE AWARDS
Award Winners
The Cabanon by STAR strategies + architecture and BOARD is a fully equipped 7m² apartment with 4 distinct spaces, including a spa. The project is the result of circular adaptive reuse of an unused storage.
First Prize
Dijkmagazijn Scharwoude by common practice transforms a dike warehouse into a guesthouse and artist-in-residence, comibining historically logical aesthetics with low-energy systems and biobased and circular material use.
Second Prize
HAUS FLORA by 2a studio a mid-terrace house in Cologne defined by prefabricated timber, a 62.5 cm grid, circular structure, reduced materials, and minimal services creating a flexible, resource-conscious home with spatial clarity and adaptability.
