    4. You’re all set! Just wait for the confirmation email with the payment details.

    Important notes:

    • The competition has a one-time participation fee.

    • You can submit multiple projects under the same company/email at no additional cost.

  • The competition is open to architects, architecture studios, and interior architecture firms based in Europe and the UK.

To qualify, participants must submit a completed project that has already been built in Europe or the UK and list up to 5 sustainable materials used.

Projects can be of any type or scale.

  • The goal of the competition is to highlight the ability of architects to implement local and sustainable materials in outstanding architectural projects.

After the competition your work will be featured on MARCH, the digital hub for architecture & sustainable construction materials. Project images will be published and linked to their sustainable materials and key stakeholders (architect, suppliers photographer).

    By joining, you’ll:

    • Gain Life-long visibility in Europe’s sustainable architecture scene.

    • Connect with top sustainable architects and material pioneers.

    • Become part of a mission-driven platform that helps architects implement sustainable materials.

  • Each project shoul specify at lease 1 and up to 5 (benchmark) sustainable materials. However, there is no limit to how many materials you list.

Materials are categorised in the following categories:

    • Bio-based: made from renewable natural materials

    • Biodegradable: compostable (natural/industrial conditions)

    • Circular: reused, reclaimed, repurposed, upcycled, recycled or designed for reuse

    • Local: regionally sourced materials

Participants can list and categorise materials easy and fast in the submission form.

  • Submissions will be evaluated based on two key aspects: design quality and material use.

For the materials, the jury will assess:

    • Sustainability impact, as specified in the submission form

    • Quantity and relevance of sustainable materials used (volume, surface area, or number of materials)

All entries will be reviewed by an independent jury of architects and material experts. The judging panel values innovation and intention — we support progress, not perfection.

Submit your project and be part of the shift.

  • Each image must be no larger than 2MB and 25 megapixels (maximum 6000 × 4000 pixels).

There is no limit to the number of images you can upload.

  • Images and project info will be published by March Materials UG on its online platform and social media channels with proper credit to both the architecture firm, material suppliers and the photographer.

You can submit images with or without copyright.

If you do not hold the copyright, we require you to obtain permission from the copyright holder to allow March Materials UG to publish the images on its online platform.

On social media channels, images will be used for content related to the competition until 30 November 2025.

  • March Materials UG is led by 3 female-founders, Marie Roels, Belén Martínez and Alexandra Servie. The company is building MARCH, the first visual sourcing engine for architects.

MARCH is a visual platform featuring project images that are directly linked to sustainable building materials, their suppliers and construction professionals involved.

Our mission is to help architects include sustainable materials in a project from day one.

MARCH is a platform built for architects by architects. It's a design and sourcing tool built to use everyday, by creative thinkers.

  • We are supported by a group of highly-curated and mission-driven partners: Hanfstein, Materially, Gramitherm and Outer Labs

They share our vision, salute our initiative and support this competition financially.
